Local History

Interest in family and local history is growing. Maybe this is related to the growing sense of alienation felt by many of us in today's somewhat soulless, commercialised, technologised and consumerist world. Perhaps we feel we are being subsumed as expendable, dehumanised parts in a global economic machine. Maybe this search for our 'roots' will help restore a sense of our own individual humanity, and some feeling of 'connection'. Whatever the cause, it fulfils a need, and it is also interesting.
